Leadership is not about a ‘position’-it is a mindset… by ldedmc06

Two years ago I was filling out the application for ILCA’S new program-Leadership Council.  I was drawn to the program because my sister and I had purchased our parents business and were now in leadership roles. What great timing!  I had a yearning for knowledge in this new role I had and a yearning to become more active with ILCA.  I was hoping this new program would fulfill both of those desires I had.  I am here to tell you that it sure did fulfill those desires and more! John Blumberg had me hooked from moment ONE. He is an awesome speaker and really gets you thinking.  I still find myself looking back through my notes and the exercises we did to find support in these challenging times. I formed  relationships with some of the other attendees that are to this day very dear to me. We have formed a ‘formal’ Women’s Networking Group that is a result of the Leadership Council and I have been chairing that committee for over a year. So many good things have come out of my participation with the Council.

Leadership is a priviledge that comes with a meaningful burden…
